Edgar Fenwick is the mastermind behind SOPA Square and has teamed with a select group of local professionals to make this cutting-edge project a reality. As a developer in the area for over 25 years, he has watched his home town of Kelowna grow and is deeply concerned with the urban sprawl he has observed in the Okanagan Valley creating a car society.
He is a strong supporter of higher densities in town centres, reducing the reliance on automobiles for transportation.Sustainability was his focus in the creation of SOPA square with the end goal being a community where you can live, shop and play without relying on automobiles.

Ed's belief that great architecture should blend with the environment is illustrated in innovative homes that are both energy efficient and architecturally stunning.
His commitment to sustainable practices is highlighted with his choice of Busby, Perkins and Will to design the project - an architectural firm from Vancouver that has pioneered sustainable design.
Local architects Meiklejohn Architects Inc were also hired to blend the sustainable design with the Okanagan Lifestyle.

"The green building movement is young and vigorous. It is a pivotal moment of recognition for humankind. As biological beings, we must live within the constraints of a finite world, like all other like forms. As we try to wrestle our socioeconomic and political systems into conformity with this reality, we need a diverse spectrum of ideas and techniques. The old ways will be threatened, but there are enormous opportunities, as Peter Busby's work illustrates"
