In conjunction with Fresh Outlook and their target to have 10,000 Okanagan residents see DIRT! The Movie, SOPA Square along with the South Pandosy BIA sponsored the event on Tuesday evening June 29th. The day had been a nice balmy day but by the time the event started around 7pm we were cowering under tents for cover from the rain and cold. The rain finally stopped around 8:30 pm and a local band “Half a Quorum” was able to belt out a few oldies to warm everyone’s hearts. Curtis Stone of Green City Acres, Michelle Kam from the City of Kelowna, and Joanne de Vries of Fresh Outlook all spoke for a few minutes and Joanne introduced the movie, which started about 9:30 pm. The evening was cold but about 80 of us weathered the wind and negative temperatures and were very inspired by the movie and it’s message. Check out the rest of the photos from the event on our facebook.
Big thanks go out to Beyond Audio who provided the audio and video, to SW Audio for staging and amazing screen, to the vendors – Green City Acres, Ladybugs, Kelowna Cycle, Wedge Pizza and Little Church Farm!! Thank you to everyone who weathered the weather and came out to support the event – huge round of applause to all of you. Now….go get dirty!
